From the first shots of the Revolutionary War to the men and women serving our country today, this nation owes an immeasurable debt of gratitude to our veterans. Even so, the simple act of reaching out to all veterans today to say "thank you" speaks volumes. Join The National WWII Museum in New Orleans this Veterans Day as we raise our voices together to say "Thank you for my freedom."

A Million Thanks!

Our goal is to garner 1 million Thank Yous for our veterans. Add your voice by submitting a story, photo or video. It can even be as simple spreading the word via Facebook and Twitter. Help us show our veterans that their service and sacrifice is appreciated.


Veterans Day at The Museum

Free admission for all veterans to Museum exhibit galleries. WWII veterans receive free admission every day to Museum exhibit galleries, Beyond All Boundaries and Final Mission: The USS Tang Submarine Experience.

Veterans Day Banners

  • Assembled using pieces of cloth sent in by our nearly 133,000 members from across the country, these banners—from 2013 and 2014, respectively—will be on display in the US Freedom Pavilion: The Boeing Center throughout the 2015 Veterans Day weekend.
  • There are approximately 4,000+ pieces of cloth stitched together to create the 8’ x 10’ (2 sided) banner.
  • The messages are a variety of personal and creative designs from Veterans as well as families and friends who want to express their appreciation for all who serve. All pieces count toward our effort to collect one million "thank yous" for our veterans.

Pelicans Veterans Appreciation Day

Promotional Opportunities

  • 100 museum tickets will be given away to the first 100 walk up game ticket purchases.
  • 100 museum tickets will be given away during the game through the Pelicans audience promotions.
  • 15-second Museum video commercials will be shown on the arena monitors throughout the game.
  • Museum logos and Road to Berlin graphics will be shown on arena interior digital signage.
  • 3,000 co-branded (Pelicans / WWII Museum) dog tags will be given out at the game.

Additional Outreach

  • We are planning to have WWII Macro vehicles displayed outside the arena from 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm.
  • The Pelicans production team will interview one of our WWII veterans at the museum prior to the game. This interview will be played on the arena monitors at the game. Those veterans will be asked to join us at the game.

Entertainment at the Game

  • The Museum’s Victory Belles will be performing the National Anthem and also a five-minute half time performance.
